Hi. This unit was working fine until about 2 months ago. When I turn on the power or open the dvd tray to put in a disk, the unit powers off after about 10 seconds. This will happen both with a disk in or if it is empty. I have access to all the controls on the remote, including setup, and on the unit but only for about 10 seconds. The unit then powers off. Now here is the strange thing: If there is a vhs tape in the unit, the unit functions properly. I can put in a dvd and play it without any problems. The power remains on. The vhs tape does not need to be playing, it only needs to be inserted.
There is probably something wrong with the VCR, if there is any problems with the VCR the unit will shut down. Samsung equipment is very problem prone.
