I would greatly appreciate some help, so here goes...

I have Sanyo (M675) Television with a single coaxial input, that's it...
What I need to set up on my television is.. a digital (numeric) cable terminal , a vcr and a dvd.

Since my television is an older model, I had to buy an RF modulator to be able to have the dvd functionality.

Here 's the way that I was told to set it up, but it still doesn't work...

The cable drop should be connected to the coax input of the digital cable terminal, the coax output of this box should be connected to the coax input of the vcr, the coax output of the vcr should be connected to the coax input (antenna in) of the RF modulator and the coax output of the RF modulator should be connected to coax input on the television.

As for the dvd, the audio/video output should be connected to the audio/video input of the RF modulator.

The vcr and digital cable terminal work perfectly on the television, but the dvd doesn't work (no picture & no sound).

From that point, all I was told was that I should change the video input source on my television so I can watch either my vcr or dvd... but I have no such option on my television...

If you have any idea... your help would be greatly appreciated !!
Thanks.

3 or 4 would be the output select, there isn't any other switch? Some DVD players have a switch near the outputs to switch between component output and composite output, look for one of those.

So I guess there was no switch on the back of the DVD player? Maybe the modulator is no good. You wouldn't happen to have the coax input and output backwards? I guess you have the TV on 3 or 4.

David,

Sorry for not responding quicker (I was out of town).... Turns out that your gut feeling was exactly the source of the problem... A defective RF modulator... Although it was brand new, I was able to get a new one, which works perfectly !!

Thanks for your help... it was greatly appreciated !!!
