I have a NAD receiver which for the DVD channel has 1 S- video jack, 1 video jack, and 2 audio jacks. I also have an older tv that has composite connections and an DVD that has component and S video.
WHat do I do to get the best available viewing and potential to hear the DVD though my speakers i.e. what cables do I need and where exactly should I connect them.
The DVD doesn't have a composite output? If not you will have to get an s-video to composite adapter if your TV doesn't have an s-video input. No need to run the video signal into the receiver unless you have multiple sources you want to use, just run the video output straight to the TV and run the audio jacks to the receiver.
