Considering buying a new DVD player? Read this first.

The next generation of DVD players will be High Definition DVD players. So if your trying to save buck and not be dissappointed, (dang.. I should have waited!) you might consider waiting. Of course, if a HDTV is not in your plans, it won't matter.

Just wanted to share this info with you folks who didn't know.

Keith do you have any Idea if they will be making HDTV players with component video outputs sending a HD signal b/c my HDTV does not have a DVI input.

I'm guessing you mean HD-DVD players? I imagine it will have the component and DVI outputs, since a HD signal can be carried through either output. Buy the way, there will be DVD movies in HD. Presently the only HD 1080i transfer is T2 Extreme, that is already released. I understand it is not really a true HD-DVD, though the picture looks great...much better than any I've seen. Its a telecine transfer, 24 frame per second high-definition digital. Many players use PureCinema which detects telecine transfers to adjust for best picture quality.
