Monday, August 16, 2004 - 15:54 GMT Dear members, I have a pioneer DVD Player with 2.1 output. The model no is 366 S. I am new to this Home theater concepts. I wanted to go for a 5.1 DTS, Dolby digital home theatre speakers. But all the shop owners told me, I cannot have 5.1 effect with my system. My player give 2.1 analog output, a digital output and co axial out also. With the digital output, can I enjoy a 5.1 Effect? If yes, what are the hardwares i require?

Monday, August 16, 2004 - 16:20 GMT Hi, If you are using Digital outputs you can enjoy 5.1 Effects. You never use the analog output for home theater, only use the analog outputs if you are listening to SACD's Try a Digital Coax, those are better, but Optical is good too. The only other thing you need is a Dolby Digital / or DTS receiver for this to work.
