This is what I'm looking at: Room size is approximately 18x16 (Nicely shaped) Large TV / Possibly a Flat screen Yamaha Home Theater Receiver Parametric Room Acoustic Optimizer for perfectly balanced sound Output: 110-Watts x 7 RXV1400 Sony 5-Disc Progressive Scan DVD Changer Plays DVDs, CDs, multi-channel SACDs and MP3s Full 3:2 reverse conversion for smooth movie playback DVPNC685 Direct TV TIVO Setup. I might upgrade to a HD setup. Sapphire Home Theater Speaker System Tower front speakers, center speaker and surround speakers ST2B/SCBK/SSBK Velodyne Subwoofer Built-in 150-Watt (RMS) amplifier with Distortion Limiting System DLS3500B Basicly the same tweeter.com setup they offer in their install packages except removing the extra fluff I don't need / want. Not to mention installing it myself and saving cash. *********MY Questions*************** 1. Home is underconstruction, I want to save a little moo-la and do the wires myslef. What should I buy for in wall wire to connect the speakers? To everything else together? Should it be shielded? I like to pay for quality but not piss it all away so something mid range. 2. I want to put speakers outside by the pool area for music (Mounted to the exterior of the house). Any specific wiring concerns that I need to worry about? Any suggestions for outdoor mid grade speakers with good overall sound? 3. How is the equiptment on that list? I want to make sure that its all pretty decent stuff and will sound good when watching movies and listening to music. Will it sound good if setup correctly? On a scale of 1-10 where would this system fall? 4. Do I need to purchase an amp with that system? The sub has one built it just making sure it will be adequate. 5. Any suggestions? Any good websites for noobs like me taking the DYI step? Thanks in advance for the help! |
