Posted on I don't see a FAQ but I think this question is pretty simple. Can I play audio via one HDMI connection and video from another simultaneously? Example: listen to music whilst also playing Xbox through the same receiver. I just want to know if it's even possible. I get the impression HDMI doesn't allow this. In which case I hate HDMI. |

Posted on The problem isn't HDMI. It's the Audio/Video switching from a receiver, which is typically one-to-one. Two ways to get around this: 1) If an A/V receiver has a ZONE 2 output, then you can hook up speakers and a source to ZONE 2 and play audio simultaneously why playing Xbox. 2) Hook the Xbox into the HDMI input on the TV, not into the receiver. Then use the receiver for listening to music. |
