I'm currently in the process of upgrading my home theater setup, and I seem to be having some issues with my receiver going into protect mode and also not getting enough sound out of my turntable when it's playing. Here's the current set up: Receiver: Denon AVR-590 Front Speakers: (1)KLH L853B, (1) Aiwa SX-ND8(not ideal... I know... my other KLH blew, and I do have the other Aiwa) Center: KLH 2410 Surround: (2) Aiwa SX-R275 Sub: None Turntable: Sony PS-LX300USB, with Pyle PP444 preamp (I also have a Technics turntable, don't know the model off hand and will update post later but it needs a new belt) I also have a few speaker drivers (2-6", ~6.9 ohms, 2-10", ~8 ohms) from a friend who works for a company that builds high-end custom speaker cabinet systems. So this setup is pretty piecemealed together, hence the need for the help here. My questions are: (1) On a pretty tight budget what would the best powered subwoofer option be? (2) Should I just replace the KLH with the other AIWA front? (3) Would it make sense to build a few boxes for the 2, 6" and 10" drivers that I have to replace the fronts? (4) Should I buy a new/better preamp for the Turntable? The specs say it has a preamp built in, but I don't think it does since even with the current preamp I have to have the volume on the receiver almost all the way up. (5) Any other suggestions? Thanks in advance, Nick |
