I am new to home audio, and recently purchased the HK AVR-85 and a pair of Acoustic Energy Aegis EVO One speakers (they're lovely). I also have a 10" sub and another pair of Polk bookshelf speakers.
What I ultimately want to do is run all 5 speakers for audio only... Mp3's and CD's.
I noticed AFTER purchasing that the AVR-85 does not seem to support an A/B speaker set up.
What I was hoping to do was run the EVOs as front left-right and the Polks as surround and then hook up the sub-woofer... and play stereo recordings... thinking that I could drive a stereo signal to the EVO and Polks.
This apparently is not possible.
So what IS possible? Is there any way to make this work w/ my current gear... or do I need to buy a second amplifier and go out from the AVR-85's multriroom output?
therfore on back of reciever hook up front evos. rear polks to rear inputs.blackand red. sub to subwoofer input, and no center when doing the setup menu.
