I don't know what speakers will work with a Pioneer amp, but I suggest you go speaker shopping on a week day if at all possible. Get a salesperson to connect different speakers to a Pioneer receiver. Twist his/her arm if you have to. Tell him/her "If you don't, you'll lose the sale and I'll explain to your boss why you lost the sale on the way out." Don't bluff! I've used this tactic before. It works well. If they bring up the 30 day return policy, remind them that the policy is there in case you don't like how the speakers sound in your home, but that you never buy anything without hearing it first. Don't back down! If they don't cooperate, buy your speakers else where. Remember, YOU are the customer. Your business pays their salaries.

If you should cross brands (EG: use a different brand of surround speaker than your fronts), make sure ALL speakers have the same type of tweeter. Whether they are cone, hard dome, soft dome, horn, etc, if you mix tweeter types, it won't sound right.

Yes good tactic jazzy
Don't seem too anxious to buy
Seem anxious to leave store without
A sale for salesman
Jazzy is hugely correct for matching
Tweeter for every speaker in room
Timber is important to match.
Pioneer is known to be a little bright matched
With klipsh's horn tweeters
Does sound a little fatiguing to the ear maybe over time a little bright.
How about listening to Boston acoustics at
Best buy probably a better match
With they're soft dome tweeter.

Thanks Vince! If Pioneer tends to bright, I agree Klipsch used with it would probably not sound good to most of us. To each his own of course. There are those who'd like that. I am not familiar with Pioneer. Klipsch seems to work well with HK, at least according to people who use them together. It all boils down to try it and see.

Hey, thanks for the advice guys! I will def. have them hook up the speakers to the reciever and see how they sound. Never thought that would really matter.

Just keep in mind, how they sound in the store is not exactly how they will sound at home. Hence, the thirty day return policy.

Pioneer retained the sleek sleek black stop for the new VSX series. There's a large info display in the center along with a row of buttons for tuner controls and speaker selection. To the left is the power button with the input selector below that and the large master volume on the right.
