The receiver does not have hdmi but it does have an orange coax cable hookup and a optical digital cable hookup. Right now - I have an HDMI cable from the cable box to the tv and from the blu ray to the tv. I have an analog cable (red/white/yellow) from the AV IN 1 to the back of the receiver DVD /video 1 slots. I also have an analog cable from the back of the receiver (video 2) to the DVD blu ray player. I was able hook up my old cd player to the receiver and have sound. The back of the tv has one set of analog (red/yellow/white) AV IN 1; an optical cable output; and a section that has component in with R/L red/white audio; and the red/blue/green video inputs. Since my receiver does not have the red/blue/green outputs; only red/white/yellow - it seems like I will not be able to use these. I think if I can hook an optical cable from the tv to the receiver; that may work... that will bring the audio from the tv to the receiver but do i need a video connection also? I also want to hook up a WII game set and a VCR - which will need the AV IN 1 analog slots. I will probably rarely use the VCR so could just switch it with the WII if I did want to use the VCR. I tried the pdf doc on this website; but it doesn't list types of cables; only components. can anyone explain this in simple terms; i used to be pretty good at hooking up electronics; but that was along time ago and everything is much more complicated now. My age is showing.. any help will be appreciated |

You doesn't need to hook the video output on your receiver! To help us list your brand and Model of your receiver then your TV! My Sharp Aquos has 9 inputs but many tV has only 3. You can buy a automatic switching box if you can't hook all your componants. |

I'm recomending them for my customers for they're home theaters along with panasonic G or V series. vince |
