Hello! I own a 2004 fifth-wheel RV with a Samsung MAX-S520 CD/Cassette/AM/FM player. The Samsung originally drove a sub-woofer and four wall-mounted satellite speakers. The satellite speakers were stolen, and I need to replace them. I don't know who manufactured the speakers (just never noticed), and the RV manufacturer claims to have no record of what was installed that year. Samsung seems impossible to deal with by email and phone.
The amplifier info in the Samsung manual is: Output power = 6 ohms, 15 Watts/CH RMS (harmonic distortion 10%), channel separation 45dB, Signal/noise ratio 75 dB.
A guy who claims knowledge of such things recommended BIC Venturi 32DB speakers with the following specs: Recommended power = 5 to 125 watts; Frequency response = 80-20,000 Hz (+- 3 dB); Sensitivity = 90 dB @ 1W/1m; Impedance = 8 ohms.
Bearing in mind that the Samsung will have to drive four satellite speakers, do those speaker specs make sense?
