I've vot a wierd setup for my modest home theatre system.
My surround sound system is a Sony DAV-HDX274 The tv is a Polaroid TLX-02311B an Xbox 360 and computer with HDMI slot
my problems so far are that my surround sound only has an HDMI out and my TV can connect via coaxel cable but I read in the manual that for some reason this tv isn't good for surround sound and that routing the signal threw it degrades it(not sure if that's bs or not)
right now I can only watch DVDs in full surround sound everything else is connected via 2 channel sterio. Should I just get a coaxel cable or is there a device I can connect all my media to and have sound go to the stero system and video to my tv?
do you have a cable box? and does the sony have hdmi inputs? polaroid have hdmi? normally you wanna connect cable box and dvd sources to suround sound and one cable to tv for video
The polaroid only has an hdmi input + the component and composit connections all inputs only, then it has a coaxel output. The Sony has an hdmi + coaxil + optical inputs along with component and composit.
I don't have a cable box, we use satalite but it's Ina diffrent room, I get tv via RF cable.
time for another sat reciever then connect that to ss or if polaroid has an optical out you have no choice.... believe me sound would be loads better with new reciever peace vm
