New member Username: Franck72Post Number: 2 Registered: Feb-10 | Hey everyone, first time posting here! I bought the Sony STR-DH800 AVReceiver (110W per CH, 770W total), and i'm looking for two front speakers to complete my 7.1 surround. I have 2 options here : 1) Sony SS-F6000: 180W peak, 40hz-50Khz, 8 ohms, 3 way (6.5''/3.25''/1'') 2) Yamaha NS-777: 250W peak, 100W RMS, 30hz-35Khz, 6 ohms, 3 way (8''/5''/1'') What are your thoughts? Thanks, Francis |

Bronze Member Username: Vm8444Post Number: 65 Registered: Aug-05 | hi francis gotta agree with john for the money the polks are good,, but if you can save about 100 dollars more these bostons are the closest thing to high end for 400,, I'd wait and get these http://www.amazon.com/Boston-Acoustics-CS226B-Classic-Floorstanding/dp/B001GIOSUI http://cgi.ebay.com/Boston-Acoustics-CS-226-Classic-Single-Floorstandi_W0QQitemZ 320483769036QQcmdZViewItemQQptZSpeakers_Subwoofers?hash=item4a9e523acc also go with decent speaker wire too audioquest flex 14/2 or type 2 to match believe me. http://www.audioreview.com/mfr/audioquest/speaker-cables/type-2/PRD_116399_1584crx.aspx vince theaudioguy.ca |

Another point of curiosity for me is the Canadian-based internet-only speaker company Fluance. I have not heard any of their stuff, but they sure look like serious values for the money. The only compromise in quality I can see is that they use vinyl veneer, and there is no choice in color. Still, with a 30 day in home trial, I would be tempted to try them out. http://www.fluance.com/fluanhigthre.html $300 for the pair. |

The only reviews I have found are about their 5 speakers kit they sell. Word is that they are certainly cheap for the quality and they are worth every penny... That is certainly a good option! |

I used to have the KHT 2005 prior to upgrading and though these are just 'eggs' their output is outstanding. The set has all five speaker and the sub. But I am not sure if you are looking for a complete HT setup. You may also want to check out the C7 front (http://www.amazon.com/KEF-Floor-Standing-Speaker-Single/dp/B001HV7G8A) on Amazon for 400 USD - slightly above your budget. You should also check out their book shelves iQ3 (i think) they are also outstanding speakers. |

Go to www.wwstereo.com-the Mirage floorstandings are going for 2:1 in-store. Maybe you can contact them for the same deal. Hey, I'm new to this but does anyone dislike the Mirages? |
