I have a powered MK V-75 Mark II subwoofer in my surround setup. It's fantastic!!! It's sad that this company went out of business and was bought by a Dutch company.

Anyway, my wife started an early spring cleaning mission and wants to toss the subwoofer. My jaw dropped but after settling down I started thinking of other options. Her main complaint is that it takes up too much room in our small family room. I know I'll be giving up a lot of performance but can I mount the enclosure in the ceiling with strong wood supports and use polystyrene or styrofoam to isolate vibrations. I am going to face the speaker down into the room through a hole in the ceiling. I will cover the hole with a grille. Also, would it be best to have it face down near the television or the seating area? Thanks!

Any thing can be done, you may give up some dynamics with this set up. I don't know what grill you can use that will not vibrate too bad.
