Sony doesn't sell an upgraded passive woofer that I can find. This certainly points out one of the downfalls of HTiB's as the "system" comes as is and that is it. On the other hand, there are definitely ways to add a powered subwoofer with some very minor cutting and splicing. I would not recommend it but one idea would be to implement a powered sub using it's speaker level input with it placed in between the receiver and the existing woofer. That might temporarily get you to where you want to be but once this modification bug bites the only remedy is to get yourself into a non HTiB system as soon as possible!!! |
