Ideally, I would like the surround sound for TV use (not via DVD etc) Can anyone recommend one that's any good? and also which is easy to install? Just checked TV and there is a yellow, white and red socekts and also an AV-in? Is this of any help? Lisa |

The TV can be hooked up to the sound system but a better way is to connect the cable box to the TV and the sound system. How much money do you want to spend. Onkyo has gotten a lot of good ink lately. The list price $600 is fully loaded and ready for Blu-ray. But as you stated you want it mainly for TV so maybe the TX-RS506 list for $380 is nice receiver and will serve you well.I like Paradigm speakers because they are a great bang for the buck.
