New member Username: RockjockPost Number: 2 Registered: Mar-07 | I recently purchased an LG HT303SU Home Theater and have connected the DVD player and speakers etc. 1. What I would like to know is if a normal TV can connect and play sound through this system? 2. The speakers connect to the device with 2 red/black wires with bare ends - you lift a flap and insert the bare wire to achieve sound, can you connect more than one speaker to the same connection? http://za.lge.com/md/product/prodcategorylist.do?actType=detail&currPage=1&categ oryId=0200000201&parentCategoryId=0200000002&categoryLevel=3&productId=110000100 8# LG HT303SU -Total 300W (45Wx5 + 75W) -XTS Pro Digital Amplifier -VSM (Virtual 10.2Ch Sound) -Maximum Playback Compatibility (DivX / DVD+R/RW / MP3 / WMA / JPEG) -Stylish Parabola Satelite Speaker Amplifier Power Output - Front (Initial Max Power) : 45W x 2(4f) Power Output - Center (Initial Max Power) : 45W (4f) Power Output - Rear (Initial Max Power) : 45W x 2(4f) Power Output - Subwoofer (Initial Max Power) : 75W(3f) Function - CD/DVD : Yes Function - AV1(Rear AV) : Function - AV2(Rear AV) : Function - AV3(Front AV) : Function - FM/AM : Yes Interface Audio Line IN - Analog : Aux Audio Line IN - Digital : (Optical/Coaxial) No/No Audio Line OUT - Analog(Scart) : No Audio Line OUT - Digital : No Preout : Output - Terminal(Front/Center/Rear/Subwoofer) : Yes/Yes/Yes/Yes Output - Teminal Type : Push-in Video Signal IN : Video Signal OUT - Composit(Monitor) : 1 Video Signal OUT - Component : 1 Video Signal OUT - S-Video : Video Signal OUT - Scart : Video Signal OUT - DVI(Digital Video Interface) : Video Signal OUT - HDMI : No Video Signal OUT - 1080i, 720P (up-conversion) : No System Switch(Auto/Pal/NTSC) : Component Switch - Component/S-Video : Headphone Jack (3.5mm) : Yes USB Jack : Yes DC out for the TX : Mic Jack (3.5) : Mic Volume : Echo Volume : External FM/MW Antenna : Yes / Yes Audio Sound Effect - DTS : Yes Sound Effect - Dolby Digital : Yes Sound Effect - Dolby Prologic : Sound Effect - Dolby Prologic U : Yes Sound Effect - DSP Sound Mode : Yes Sound Effect - 2Ch Stereo(By-Pass) : Sound Effect - XTS : Sound Effect - XTS Pro : No Sound Effect - DTS ES : Sound Effect - DTS Neo6 : Sound Effect - DD EX : Demo Mode : Test Tone : Yes Sound Level : Yes Mute : Display : FL Dimmer : Sleep : Screen Saver : Tuner Type : PLL Band : FM/AM Tuning Range - FM1/50 kHz, 100 kHz : 87.50~108.00 MHz(50kHz) Tuning Range - FM2/10kHz : Tuning Range - MW/10 kHz : 522~1620 kHz Tuning Range - /9 kHz : Station Preset : 50 (Random) Clear : Yes RDS (PS, PTY, CT, RT) : External FM/MW Antenna : Yes(75ohm)/Yes DVD/CD Player Type : 1DVD Tray Progressive Scan - PAL : Yes Progressive Scan - NTSC : Yes Auto Play : Playable DISC Format : DVD(PAL), DVD(NTSC) Playable DISC Format : Audio-CD Playable DISC Format : CD-R/CD-RW Playable DISC Format : MP3, MP3 ID3 Tag Playable DISC Format : DVD-R, DVD-RW(Video Mode) Playable DISC Format : DVD+R, DVD+R Double Layer, DVD+RW Playable DISC Format : WMA Playable DISC Format : JPEG Playable DISC Format : XviD Playable DISC Format : Music Photo Album Playable DISC Format : CDG |

Yes, provided the TV has output R/L phono ports that can be connected to the LG's R/L AUX IN ports. "can you connect more than one speaker to the same connection?" Not recommended. |

I have also purchased the same HT system and have two problems 1) I can hear very low or muted sound only when playing a DVD. Obviously I've connected some cable incorrectly........but for the life of me not sure what I've done wrong! Can you confirm for a newbie the proper cable set up between the LG HT303SU (DVD Home Theatre system) and a 32/LG/30 HDTV. Do I need other cables besides those included? I have an AV tri cable (red/Yellow/white) as well as a Yellow Monitor jack and an AM/FM antennae which came with HT system. Will this work, or do I need a multi colour component cables? 2) It is not clear the proper cable set up so that I can use the HT system to also listen to satellite TV as well through the surround sound speakers. |

There are pretty simple instructions on page 5 of your manual. If you don't have it you can see it at the LG website. |

As you reinsert the connectors you should then hear when the problem comes back. If the noise doesn't go away after disconnection there some more detail on the sound and where it is coming from as in which speaker would be helpful. |
