Unregistered guest | I have been trying to do the following without any success: Hook up a Sony HT6600DP system : Receiver, DVD/CD Player, 5 speakers, subwoofer to my TV (Toshiba CN32E90), VCR (Panasonic PVV4621) and Charter Cable. I am desperately looking for easy step-by-step instructions. THANKS!!!!!!!! |
Anonymous | Hire a Custom Installer. The system you describe would take a professional between 1 - 3 hours to hook up and do a quick calibration assuming you do not want the wires installed in the walls. Your cost would be no less than say $60, but no more than $300 and would be well worth the expense! |

Knowing me, I'd spend that $60+ on some DVDs or accessories & cables or something. I actually went through a lengthy, detailed, but easy-to-follow (I would have hoped) explanation of your setup, but this PC reset itself. Anyway, found your product manuals online, and was able to understand all the connections you'll need to make. If you'd like to email me for the explanations and a diagram, I'd be happy to help. |

Now, all you need to do is switch the input on the receiver to hear audio from the dvd, vcr, etc. Your video from the dvd to your tv could be s-video, component (red, blue, green cables), or better. I'm sure you at least have the first two outputs on your dvd player, and the same inputs on your tv. Video from your vcr to tv will probably be from a standard yellow (rca-style) cable. I hope this gives you somewhere to start; let me know if you have any other questions or problems! I have the Sony HTS, Sony DVD/VHS combo and a Hitachi Widescreen HDTV. I can get sound from the radio and DVD player but not from the tv. The dvd sound is low even when it is on 40 for volume. Can someone find me step-by-step instructions or a easy set-up diagram on how to hook everything up. Thanx |

Chances are the people at Radio Shack can give you instructions. DO YOU HAVE THE OWNER'S MANUAL FOR THE SONY? |
