I want a good set of speakers and a receiver that i can watch movies and stuff with, but the main purpose is for music. I cant decide if i should get bookshelf and surround speakers with a sub, or just two big floorstanders. I plan on having people over almost every weekend and I live in a college town so the louder the better. I also work at Best Buy and get a good discount on Klipsch. What should i do? |

I have a pair of Synergy F2's and I really like them. Just out of curiosity, how much would these run you in your neck of the woods? |

If it is rated at say 85 watts per channel for a 7.1 if i put it in surround mode does it boost the watts or would it still remain just 85 watts |

I'd say it all depends how big of a room you'll be listening to them in. In an apartment I'd suspect they'd be more than enough. I'm driving them with a NAD 2150 (50 watts / channel - MORE than enough power). |
