Hook up a "Y" adaptor to the subwoofer line output on the Insignia and run patch cords to each sub. The stand back and let 'er rip!

if I read your question correctly, the Pioneer sub has its own amplifier, so hooking it up to the "sub-woofer OUT" connector of the receiver will have no effect on the receiver - it is sending line level output to the sub to be amplified there. If your existing Insignia system includes another subwoofer, than the "Y" connector mentioned above will work fine. There are even sub-woofer cables with dual connectors on one end to create the "Y" internally

yeah if the y connector works how will i do it...i connect to subout wire then ther is 2 females what do i do with that?...because on the sub you have to use speaker wires to connect to a reciever or amp

kelvin -
with you new information, you have two options

1. put the sub back into a car system and buy a reasonably priced 8" sub from Best Buy where you got your Insignia receiver

2. buy a subwoofer amplifier from Parts-Express

http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?&Partnumber=300-784

and hook it to your unpowered sub.

By the time you get through messing with a separate amp and the old sub, you would be just as well off with this
