| I am a home theatre novice looking for some help on picking the right stuff. My HT room(actually family room) size is 14W x 20L x 18H(cathedral ceiling). I don't think this is the best room for a HT but this is where we like to spend our time. BTW, we enjoy movies more than music in this room. I would like to get the best system I can around $2000 excluding the TV. My wonderful wife does not want big speakers to be in her way so I have to go for small speakers. I liked the Onkyo TX-SR701 ($750) for a receiver? Any opinions? I made a short list of 5.1 speaker packages to the following: 1) Boston Acoustics System 9000 II ($1000) 2) Polk Audio RM6700 ($900) 3) Anthony Gallo Nucleus Micro Satellites + MPS Subwoofer ($800) I would greatly appreciate if any had tested/used any of these combinations and let us know what the right combination would be? Thanks a bunch for your help in advance. Matt |
New HT owner | Take a look at the highly rated Energy Take 5 speaker system...I also needed smaller speakers, but wound up with RBH compact series speakers, and am very happy..Here is a link to reviews... http://www.onhometheater.com/product/20020901.htm and another one.. http://www.audiorevolution.com/equip/rbhcompacttheater/ |
