I need help to set up my home theatre system. I have an amp, cable box (1 HDMI hook up), DVD recorder/VCR combo (1 HDMI hook up), and an LCD flatscreen TV (1 HDMI hook up).
I would like to be able to record on the DVD player on all chanels while watching other chanels. I would be so grateful if someone could help me.

I'm assuming you mean you're wanting to watch TV broadcasts. All you need to do is hook the fixed audio outputs of your TV to an audio input of the receiver.
My system includes an onkio 7.1 reciever (Amp), A Toshiba LCD flat pannel TV , a DVD recorder/ VCR combo and a cable box. I can use the DVD recorder to play movies etc. but I am having trouble getting it to record through the cable box rather than through the incoming antenna from the wall.
