looks like I'm going with a 50" pioneer plasma. i have a pair of Bose 6.2 which i truly love and still want to rock out every now and then. i was wondering if i should go with a theater in a box or try to build my own system by buying a receiver and try to buy another pair of 6.2 or get a pair of Bose 301 V's which would give me 4 speakers. guess i could get a center channel or use the TV speakers and not sure if i would need a subwoofer, but i guess it would be best. i was thinking about the PIONEER VSX-516-K. it doesn't have HDMI, how important is this for sound? any suggestions, I'm sort of old school and not up to date on anything past quadraphonic sound systems.
I'd go with your second choice; build your system. Get a different pair of speakers for your front and use the Bose for the rears. Definitely get a center speaker. Using your TV speakers for center channel duty may not turn out as good as you think it will.
