I have a 500sq ft, square shape, cathedral ceiling family room. I am looking for a reciever and speakers to form a home theater system. Can anyone recommend a reciever and speaker system that can fill this room. I like it loud. I'm looking to do this for no more than $1,500.
For that budget I would recommend looking at Athena ASF-2.2 for the front($400), ASB 1.2 for the surround ($240), ASC 1.2 ($150)for Center and a Pioneer VSX 1016 receiver to tie them all together. Should be within your budget, plus it has enough power to fill your room with sound.
Or for $899 you can get a much better Outlaw Receiver Model 1070.
