Hi, my funds are meager, but I have recently got a job that pays well, and have just bought a HD TV... Its a sharp aquos, 26 inch, and supports HDMI.

I dont' know much about electronics, but wanted a cheap and good surround soundsystem to equal my tv's picture (which I think is amazing).

I've been looking at a few HTIB systems. I don't need one with a dvd player. I have an unpconverter dvd player that is working out qutie well. I checked out some reviews on Cnet and came across two systems that are in my price range. I was wondering if they were worth it, or if someone may have suggestions for me that may be better.

I'll prob be living in an apartment for at least another three years, so keep that in mind.

The two systems are:

1) Sony DAV-DX255 Home Theater System--http://www.pricegrabber.com/rating_getprodrev.php/masterid=18339200/id_type=mast erid
(I know this has a dvd player, but so many more people have reviewed and praised it than the other one)

2) Panasonic SC HT15 http://reviews.cnet.com/Panasonic_SC_HT15_home_theater_system_5_1_channel/4505-6 740_7-31414068.html?tag=pdtl-list

Not sure about your price range...But I love my Onkyo 780s. Was about $440 at Circuit City. Check out some reviews on it. 1000w with 240w Sub. It ROCKs. Only challenge you may have with many HTIB's is that you will need to run component video and optical audio. If you run HDMI to TV you have no way of getting sound back to your receiver. This is fine with me as I can not tell the difference between component and HDMI unless it were side by side..then probably only a good eye can catch difference. The sound output from a good surround system makes it though...more so than even the picture...just you wait....Will give you a woody.
