Connecting DVD player, Receiver to TV+speakers

Hello,

I bought a NAD T533 DVD player and a NAF T753 Receiver. This gives me several ways to connect this set to my TV/Speakers. The T753 has the capability to project "On Screen Display" on the TV. Now I wonder:
- Would it be best to connect the DVD directly to my (ordinary 100HZ CRT) TV by using component to SCART cables or do I connect the DVD through the receiver?
- Is it better to connect the DVD to the receiver bij optical, coax or 5.1 cables to the receiver?

Regards,

Best connection is a direct connection, DVD video to TV. Coaxil to receiver. Optical and Coaxil do the same job about the same quality with coaxil being a little cheaper to buy.

You don't have to run video through the receiver. The direct route is best anyway.
