Can DVD Player's Video be watched on LCD Monitor?I have got a Philips DVD Player and a Home theatre system. When ever I play audio CDs/MP3 in it, I hear music in home theatre and switch off my TV. Only when play VCD/DVDs, I switch on TV to view Video. My question is instead of TV, can I connect video out of my DVD player to Computer monitor and watch video on it? Whether PC Monitors support the video format in DVD/VCDs?

You can play video DVDs on your PC via the DVDROM or burner. You'll need a software player such as WinDVD or PowerDVD or a DVD decoding codec for Windows Media Player. If you have a video capture card on the PC, you can connect a standalone DVD player or a VHS machine to it.

One more thing, if you want to play DVDs on a PC monitor without using a PC, you'll need a converter box to convert the S-Video or composite signal to RGA. Some more expensive monitors also have the S-Video or composite input for connecting the DVD player directly to the monitor.
