If you are using the digital output from your DVD player...connect it directly to the receiver. If you want to hear the audio on your TV from your DVD player without turning on the receiver, connect the analog (L/R) output of your DVD player to the TV's audio inputs. |

This prevents the quality of the digital signal degrading during transfer to analogue. lopro, your receiver must be equipped with an s/pdif input. The AV receiver will then decode the digital audio being output by the sat receiver into stereo or surround, depending on what audio the specific channel is generating. |
