Unsure about Theater Innovations systems

I had never before had heard about it, and after reading the thread on scams, am unsure about it. The brand is Theater Innovations, and on their website retails for about $2,000! Some people were selling it for about 1/4 of the price. Has anyone dealt with this company before?
