I'll stat first that I have no prior experience in setting up a home theater, but I purchased the Sony Home Theater in a Box (Sony HT-DDW670). I read the instructions and hooked everything up.
Note: I only used the cables and wires provided with the home theater system, except for a/v cable that came with my dvd player which I attached to the receiver and the Monster Video cable which I attached from the dvd player to the TV.
Now there was one issue I came across while hooking up the system and that was the wires that attach to the speakers and receive. The instructions said to splice the ends to expose the wire, except that all the wires came already spliced, but with 2cm of silver on the ends of them. Do I need to remove that?
I don't know what else the problem could be unless I need other cables. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
