Hey all, I recently bought a dvd player and surround sound combo which consisted of 5 RCA cables coming out of the back of the surround sound unit going into five ports on the dvd player corresponding to rear left, rear right, centre, front left and front right. briliant.
however the dvd player broke and I had to exchange it for another one as the shop no longer stocked the one I had previously.
my nw dvd player only has a coaxial output to connect to the surround sound but there is no coaxial input on the surround sound unit.
I hate to be the bearer of bad tidings, but the answer is no.
To hear sound connect the red/white analogue line outputs of the DVD player into the R/L inputs of the receiver. This will not be surround sound, but at least there will be sound.
