I was thinking of getting a $300 Onkyo amp, 2 floor standing loudspeaker Athenas, 2 satalite athenas and an athena sub and center. Would this be a big improvement over a Onkyo 580 HTIB? |
JOJOVIV Unregistered guest | Greg, your best option I think, depending on the size of the room, is to go with a Bose 123 or a Sony DAV-X1 or even a Denon 2.1 sytems which are basicly 2 speaker surround simulators with built in UPSCALING DVD player to 1080i. if you have a good HDTV. the sub is also not so bad. now non of these are the best choice for music cd. but since you can't play it that loud anyways it might work just fine |

There are comparable packages from Orb, Axiom and Ascend as well. |
JOJOVIV Unregistered guest | if you like the Onkyo sound go for the S680. it's a better system but don't forget you still have to invest $200-$300 on a good DVD player. here's a link to B&H they have the Onkyo for $339. http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller/home?O=NavBar&A=search&Q=&ci=9047 |
