Okay, I have my laptop hooked up to a Peavy amp which goes to Peavy speakers. I used a monster cable RCA with one end plugging into my headphone jack the other just like a RCA cable that goes to my amp. the problem I'm having is that there is some sort of buzzing/humming coming from the speakers and I was just wondering if anyone else had this problem or how do i fix it? any suggestion would be great.
I would check the circuit to make sure it is properly grounded first. You can get a tester from Home Depot or your surge protector may have one built in.
If this is good, then you will have to try a signal isolator to pinpoint which device is the guilty party.
