Trying to make a simple decision. Is the Kenwood HTB-505 any kind of match for the Onkyo HT-S 650 for a 12 x 15 foot room with 7-1/2 foot ceilings? Is the Onkyo really $200.00 worth better?

Why not go and listen to both systems and decide for yourself. Circuit City carries the Onkyo and Best Buy has the Kenwood. Back in September I was trying to decide between th Sony, Kenwood & Onkyo. I ended up buying the Onkyo because I thought the speakers were built more solidly (of wood) and the sound was richer. Listen and then decide-it is really a matter of personal taste. I am sure you will be happy with either one!

I purchased the Kenwood HTB-505 last week and could'nt be happier with the sound. The size of my room is 14 x 20 with the ceiling around 8 feet and the system is plenty for that size room. The dvd's sound suberb. The asteroid scene in Star Wars II is a treat for the ears.I purchased it at Best Buy for $400 and you can get a $100 rebate for the Kenwood HTB-505. I printed the rebate form from Best Buy's website. You'll be happy with this system for sure.
