Unregistered guest | Hi! I have a question regarding component video. My HT receiver (HTR-5890) has only one component output. However, I'd like to send component signals to BOTH my BenQ projector and an HDTV. I will never use both the projector and the HDTV at the same time -- the HDTV will be used only in certain situations: 1) when I'm not in the mood to pull down the screen; 2) when the bulb burns out (and I don't have a replacement on hand) or 3) during the day when the glare from a window overpowers the projector's picture. I've looked around, and I can't seem to find anything like a component Y cable, which would be ideal (if such a thing exists). Distribution amplifiers seem to be overkill for this application. Does anyone have a recommendation for a piece of hardware or cable that would be appropriate for this situation? |

All your component sources connect to the matrix, and your displays connect to the multiple outputs. With a true matrix, you can route any input to any output, all independently. See http://www.neothings.com for an example. Neothings offers a 6x2 which sounds like what yuo need, or even an 8x4, which would allow yuo to extend this to other rooms as well. |
