I have a Kenwood receiver and DirecTv. Audio from Directv is connected to receiver but video is not, its connected straight to tv. Is there any advantage connecting it through the receiver ? should I use s-video or rca cables in any case ? Can any of these configurations affect the way the receiver decodes Dolby signal ?
Thanks.

To get the best picture with less resistance is to go straight to your television with your video signal. To do this you nees to use your S-video or component cables. The receiver should only be used for sound.
