Just bought this JBL home theater system from someone I knew, HE DIDN'T HAVE A RECEIVER OR KNOW OF WHAT KIND TO GET. If you can tell I really have limited knowledge when it comes this. He said it was a very very generous deal its supposed to be 7.1 channel, so here are some specs, if anyone could recommend a receiver that would make this thing sound its best at a reasonable price PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!

Adam getting HDMI ultimately depends on whether your TV/Projection and also your DVD player have HDMI input/output.
If they do then you may want the pass through feature of HDMI on receivers. Most of the really receivers with HDMI connection tend to be very expensive (over $1200). There may be a JVC or Kenwood models that you can find with HDMI pass through for less than $500.
