HTIB dvd/vcr/receiver combo recording prblms

I have a 30" syntax olevia lcd & panasonic ht820v. i use the y,Pb,Pr connection from tv to the home theatre.When i try to view or record anything to vcr only sound comes thru. No pic at all.what connection am i missing?
