I just got a nice Panasonic DVD player for Christmas. It has an S-Video connection but it does not decode DTS.
Anyway, I connected it to my TVs S-video and it works great.
The instructions said to attach the s-video DIRECTLY to the TVs s-video.
So when I look for a reciever, should I not worry if it is has s-video or not?
And if I want to use DTS, I need to get a reciever that decodes DTS, right?
So I should just be able to get a receiver that has DTS, but doesn't neccessarily have S-video...then connect the DVD player's s-video port directly to the TV, and run the DVD audio to the receiver to get the DTS decoding to work.
Does that sound right?
Hopefully this all makes sense.
Thanks, M

Magyar, Theoretically you will not need the S video connection on your receiver...but I think it would be difficult to find a receiver that decodes DTS and does not have an S video connection. BTW I just run my video (S video)directly from the DVD player to the TV and bypass my receiver which has S video inputs - works great.
