Speaker Stands

I recently purchased the Athena Point 5 MKII System Home Theater Speaker Package and I know need speaker stands for it. Do I need to buy the Athena speaker stands for compatibility purposes. Or can I use those speakers with any standard speaker stands. I don't want to spend a lot of money on stands if it is not necessary. Any advice on stands? I'm a rookie at this home theater stuff!

Resonance is a bad thing for sound reproduction. For clear, crisp sound the only thing you want moving is the speaker cone. Some stand come with fillable centers for setting your own mass. (that means not paying for it through shipping costs) When in doubt go for the heaviest mass available to your design preference. my 2¢
