Hi, I have a Sony DE1075 6.1 Channel Receiver and it recently started not decoding digital. I have an optical cable hooked up from the DVD to the receiver and it has worked in the past. I did configure all the DVDs to DD and still it only goes to prologic. It says 48kmz PCM doesnt digital have to be 96? and if so how would i change it back or can a cable go badly? If anyone could help it would be much appreciated.
Yes optical cables can be damaged. Try the coax digital output (if your DVD has one). You can do this temporarily by using a standard rca cable-almost every one has some of these lying around. If no coax output, you may try replacement of optical cable, but make certain you have return privileges.

Well I went and bought a new Optical Cable but it still doesnt work. Has anyone heard of a decoder failing?
Try setting your DVD to Dolby Digital output and not PCM output.
