We have satellite through DirecTv, so we have a satellite receiver, DVD player, VCR, receiver, CD player and an Equalizer that is our home theatre. We hooked everything up like the diagram shows on the paperwork but are not getting any satellite signal. We can play DVD's, VCR, CD's, etc., but the satellite is posing the problem. One thing it says is to hook RCA's from the back of the TV to the audio out's on the back of the receiver <-- which there aren't any of (on the receiver)! So, I don't know if this is the problem w/ the satellite not working or what. Does anyone have any ideas or help for me? It's greatly appreciated! |

The satellite is coming out of the wall in to a splitter, then two coax cables coming out of the splitter are going into the satellite in and the antenna in on the back of the receiver. Then, the out to TV cable on the back of the satellite is going to the cable in on the VCR. Then, the VCR out is going into the cable in on the back of the TV. Also, we are getting a picture from the satellite box to the TV, but it's the blue DirecTv screen that says *Searching for signal, please stand by* The link below is how we have it hooked up. http://support.radioshack.com/rsconnections/Diagrams/ABNOPR2.pdf We're stumped?!? |

Its purpose is to allow you to send an antenna and satellite dish signal together on the same coax. (must be one on both ends of coax) If this setup worked before, then you may have the diplexer reversed. That is, the antenna and Dish cables may be reversed. Check the labeling on both diplexer and on the dish receiver. The Dish needs a DC voltage to make it work, So if someone has installed a "splitter" incorrectly, then it may not work. |
