I just bought the polk audio rm 6800 and a pioneer 1014 reciever. I was reading the polk manual and their website, both suggest using speaker wire to hook my fronts to the sub and then to my reciever....then setting front speakers to large and no sub....they claim that it will give better sound and that you won't lose the digital track recorded for the sub on DVD's.
I was just wondering if anyone knows which is the best way to hook it up, I have heard for years that the LFE sub connection directly to the reciever is the best way, but this article on polks FAQ clearly says that the LFE is not a good way to hook it up.
Anyone ever tried both and noticed a difference??
Also will going throught the sub alter my auto mic set-up on the reciever?
Only you can make that determination. I've tried that method and it was okay, but, using the LFE output is my preferred method. Others have had different tastes, and yours, may also be different.
