I consider my self faily expert on surround sound.
I am interested in the Onkyo HT-S770. But after reading some threads it seems that purchasing the SKS-HT240 speakers seperate would be better.
BUT--I don't need all the features that come with the reciver. I just want a device that can take in a few digital and analog audio inputs, decode, then driver the speakers.
Basicly I don't need the FM, nor all the A/V switching, I never listen to FM, and my TV can handle all the switching on it's own. (besides digital audio)
An example of this would actualy be some of the powerfull computer speakers setups that handle dolby digital and DTS without the need of a receiver.

Yes there are a few higher quality Logitech PC Home Theater systems for around $200 that have a decoder built into the unit. I believe it is THX certified as well. I can't remember the model number, I think it is the Logitech Z-5500's or in that family at least.
