I like the system and it would be great since it's not a huge space...but am I going to be able to get a nice full sound on my DVDs WITHOUT blowing my downstairs neighbor away? I don't want to have to crank the thing to crazy levels just to get a fulfilling surround experience, you know?

I am in the same situation, but I am planning on moving into a house within the next 6 months. I am wondering if I should buy the system now or wait until I move. Hopefully someone can give us some insight.

Pioneer have a midnight setting mode which gives great effects at low volume. I have the vsx 810 receiver and can highly recomend it. Plus at 120 watts x 6 channels it will blow your window off your house as well.

If you use the HT-S650 in an apartment I would start looking for another place to live just in case.

Just bought the HT-s650 and am moving into an apartment myself! There are plenty of sound adjustments so that you won't get evicted. Sounds great, BTW.
