Pioneer Elite VSX-41 or Pioneer VSX-D912

I am looking for a recommendation. What is better the elite vsx-41 or the regular vsx-d912. If anyone has experience with these two receivers please help?

I auditioned the vsx-d912 and found it flat sounding.
