Will these speakers damage my system or sound worse than my other spaekers?

I am looking at a pair of SDAT: MS-E800 speakers and they are 4 ohms. all my other speakers are 8 ohms. the amp i am using is a old marantz model 1030

most of your older marantz handled 4 ohm loads with no problem.

but i would try and find the manual or something online to verify.

maybe even call marantz or email.

is it harder to handle 4 ohms than 8 ohms?

yes the lower ohms are harder on the amp.

some can handle a 4ohm even a 2ohm load.

but others will burn up with anything lower than 8.

oh and what would i look for in the specs that would tell me if it could handle speakers with 4 ohms

basically the specs would say something like this.

85watts per channel at 8 ohms.
150watts per cannel at 4 ohms.

or in the manual it will say minimum impedance is (x).

don't got the manual all i got is this

yah that doesn't tell you anything!

sometimes if you look closely on the back of the unit
it may give speaker impeadence.

other then that you need to do some research.

ive been trying but its hard as hell 2 find info on old amps
