Tuesday, August 10, 2004 - 02:16 GMT Hey folks, Just seeking some friendly (and of course, wise) advice regarding receivers. I am currently looking at the NAD 742 vs. the Marantz SR6300. Listened to both with Acoustic Energy speakers, and was very impressed. However, I am in the beginnings of researching these brands and would appreciate some empirical and hands-on recommendations/advice. Thanks.

Wednesday, August 11, 2004 - 04:26 GMT I like NAD better. If you don't mind used, these are even better. http://cls.audiogon.com/cgi-bin/cls.pl?intatran&1097375260 http://cls.audiogon.com/cgi-bin/cls.pl?intatran&1097269583 http://cls.audiogon.com/cgi-bin/cls.pl?intatran&1097128374 http://cls.audiogon.com/cgi-bin/cls.pl?intatran&1097079797 http://cls.audiogon.com/cgi-bin/cls.pl?intatran&1097037552 http://cls.audiogon.com/cgi-bin/cls.pl?intatran&1096568040

Thursday, August 12, 2004 - 07:28 GMT Stephen If youre more on movies than music or just say, 50/50, dont get Nad. NAD will not thrill you as what Yamaha would do.

Thursday, August 12, 2004 - 16:55 GMT I like both. However keep in mind the T742 is NAD's entry level A/V receiver with limited features. I would pick T752 over SR6300 over T742, in that order.
