Help Needed With Subwoofer

Im currently looking at the Sony SAWX700 for 499 cdn. and im wondering if there is any better deals out there, but heres the catch, cant be more than 500$ cdn, and has to be available in Canada. Is there better than Sony out there?

Basically recommended brands are SVS, HSU, Velodyne, and two others. Hsu has them for $300 or $400 USD. Paradigm subs are not too shabby - made in Canada of course. I don't know the prices.
